Once again, I can't keep up.

Just when I thought I could take care of my real responsibilities and my blogging aspirations, reality had to get in the way. Sometimes my misunderestimation of what is actually going own almost qualifies me to be part of the Bush administration. There is just so much going on out there in the world, it gives me tired head to try to keep up with it all. Hey--now that does qualify me to be part of the Bush administration.

I just have to pick a few topics and focus on those regardless of what happens in the next few days. Here are my choices:
  • Ann Coulter facing possible felony charges
  • Ted Haggard and allegations that he has been involved with a male prostitute and meth
  • Republican members of Congress and Bush's intelligence chief put on the internet documents from Iraq that could show how to make a nuclear bomb.
  • Military newspaper editorial boards demand that Rumskull be dismissed

What? No faux pas from the Democrats? Oh, they're perfect, I forgot.

How about something positive, like congressman Ney has done the right thing and resigned his seat and admitted wrong doing relative to the Abramoff scandal. Democrats were involved too and they're all hiding right now. Like I said below, some Republicans will do the right thing. Our illustrious Comptroller in NY, running for reelection, has been accused of further fraud and he insists he is still the right man to be the fiscal watchdog of NY. He's a Democrat and apparently is as clueless as Bush.

Ann Coulter is interesting. And get your mind out of the gutter, not because she's blonde and wears revealing dresses. She voted in the wrong precinct and may be a felon as a result. Oh my, how horrible. Ranks right up there with waterboarding.

Seriously, there seems to be a lot of dirt coming out all around and it has to be politically motivated. Haggard screwed up big time and deserves whatever he gets, but if it has been going on for three years and just now coming out? Political?

"Sometimes my misunderestimation of what is actually going own almost qualifies me to be part of the Bush administration." Sometimes you make so much sense that I just have to give in and agree with you. *rim shot*

Bob Ney pled guilty on September 15. Why didn't he resign then? His plea hearing was on October 13. Why didn't he resign then? Turns out that he managed to get one more Congressional paycheck by waiting to resign until yesterday. Moreover, everyone knew that Ney was one of the Congress members identified as accepting bribes in Abramoff's plea agreement back in January of 2006. There's plenty more to show that if Ney had really wanted to do the right thing, he could have resigned well before he basically had no choice left.

As for your state Comptroller, how's his campaign doing after Spitzer threw him under the bus?

As for Ann Coulter, I will have plenty to say in a separate post, but the fact that the most abrasive, self-righteous wingnut haprie on the planet might be a felon makes me smile.

As for Haggard, there certainly are political elements to this, but they seem to involve a specific issue rather a political party or candidate, particularly given that Haggard is not a public official or running for office. Regardless of the timing, the thing I'm going to focus on is the hypocrisy shown by Haggard.

And finally--you agree with me...I win! ;-)

You are right about Haggard, the political angle is his strong public stance against gays and his obvious hypocracy. Assuming he is guilty, of course.

I won't lose any sleep over Coulter. I do get angry at these self proclaimed conservatives who do seem to take the right positions though vituperatively. They set themselves up for failure then cast a shadow on the rest of us. Pride cometh before the fall.

The NY Comptroller went from a 40 point lead to virtually dead even in the past week. Other Republicans are trying to take advantage of the situation and paint all the Democrats with the Hevesi brush. Faso, the Republican gubernatorial candidate says Spitzer did the right thing but way too late which brings his ethics into question. Any Democrat who still endorses Hevesi is being painted unethical - much like the Democrats are doing nationally with the Folley Follies.

The prize for winning is the opportunity to legally represent Coulter in her felony charge. You may get lucky. (Feel free to edit that comment)
