The Red Sox reign is over, but what a time while it lasted.

The White Sox defeated the Red Sox 5-3 and thus eliminated Boston from the playoffs. In this series, Chicago's pitching and defense returned to the form they had for most of the season, and the tenuous Red Sox pitching finally did them in. Congratulations to the White Sox for winning the franchise's first playoff series since 1917.

It is a sad day for Red Sox Nation, for Boston's reign as World Champions is officially over. Still, it has been a glorious last 11 months celebrating the end of The Curse. I want to say a big THANK YOU to the players for a great season this year. Between departures and injuries, the pitching staff was not what it was last year, but the team scrapped all year long and came within one game of winning the East.

Things might look bleak now, but Red Sox Nation knows there is always next year...

I was kind of looking forward to another Yanks - Red Sox series. But, it won't happen this year. It was a very good year for the Sox up until tonight. All year long they proved they were the team to beat. They have many fine players who should be proud of what they accomplished.

Oh, sorry I don't have any money making schemes for you.

Well, at the least they played the last series of the regular season, and the division was on the line. Still, it's not quite the same as a playoff series.

The Yankees are staging a comeback in the 4th. At least they will be playing tomorrow no matter what happens tonight.

As for the money making schemes, they have been deleted. Perhaps I should have checked out the one that mentioned something about signs of depression, but given that Boston did not lose in typical absolutely rip-out-your-heart fashion, I'm not really all that depressed.

Time to get back to listening to the radio broadcast for our Junior A hockey team (on the road in Santa Fe tonight).

If not rained out, the Yanks may be done today. If NYC weather is like it is here upstate though, they won't be able to play. I may have to play taps too the way it is going. I suppose taps can sound just as mournful on raw brass as lacquered brass.

I should have bookmarked that depression site.
