Bin Laden is dead, and somehow it will be declared a bad thing by the Republicans.
Obama just announced that Osama bin Laden is dead. I'm sure many Republicans and the idiots at Faux News will claim that the only reason Obama killed Osama is that bin Laden had the real Obama birth certificate showing that Obama was born in Indoghanistanipak or some such.

And then the parade of Bush apologists will begin, as they try to list all the accomplishments the Bush administration made against Al Qaeda--all in an attempt to gloss over the fact that the previous administration abjectly failed in getting bin Laden.
Obama said words to the effect that killing bin Laden has been the single greatest act in the battle against Al Qaeda. That is what the Republicans will bitch about, and that will be their springboard for trying to bolster the Bush record and refuse to give Obama any credit.

It really doesn't matter what the Repubs say, they aren't in power, at least in the White House. And Trump is a tramp.
The big question is what happened to the Obama that America elected?
Name one promise he has kept? Closing Gitmo? Nope. Ending the wars in the Middle East? Nope, in fact he has now started his own little war in Libya. Kind of odd for a peace president. Use diplomacy instead of acting like a cowboy? Oh yeah, assassination is real diplomatic.
Obama is making Bush look very good. But, Obama can't be called a cowboy in this case, it's been reported that bin Laden was shot in the back of the head. No self respecting cowboy would do that. What do Texans think of someone who shoots another man in the back of the head?
OK, the comment that bin Laden was shot in the back of the head was based on hearsay, which I realize is not permiseable in your court. But, now it was stated officially that bin Laden was cowering behind a woman and now it has been officially stated that he was also unarmed. So, our brave SEALS shot an unarmed man hiding behind a woman. I don't see any heroes in this situation.
Oh, but Obama got a huge jump of 1 point in his approval rating to the nosebleed stratosphere of 47 points. At least someone benefited. And he will be sure to use this in 2012 making it sound as if he actually pulled the trigger and killed bin Laden himself.
Actually, the story has been changing. I have not checked today, but I know that yesterday, the "wife as human shield" story was dropped.
The fact that the official story keeps changing is what bothers me.
As for your "name one promise" question, you know I'm pretty much with you on that. Some will say that one promise he kept was health reform, but you well know I don't think there was any real reform--and that going "all in" on health care was a huge mistake.
And I would disagree that Obama is making Bush look good. Bush's administration is still a turd that can't be polished. What Obama is doing is looking like Bush.
The real point is that the Repubs have applauded this action, but they will change their tune when they realize Obama staged it all just to prop up his sagging support. It is a farce. Bin Laden has been living there for 5 years or more and no one knew it? I don't believe it. Obama chose this time to kill bin Laden for purely political reasons. The Dems will now try to capitalize on it.
Obama is a murderer and a criminal. What makes this assassination legal? Bin Laden had not been tried by a jury and found guilty of a capital crime. We are not officially at war and bin Laden was not an enemy military member or even leader of an enemy state. Obama has been changing his story over this incident probably to cover up his crime.
We Americans should be better than that and deserve a leader who is better than that.
