A Kinky update

I mentioned in the comments to another post that the anti-Kinky faction has tried to paint Friedman as a racist. That attempt has pretty much fizzled out. And now the Democratic candidate has switched tactics, as seen in this post from the Kinky website:

Yesterday, Democratic candidate Chris Bell called Kinky and asked him to drop out of the race. His desperate attempt validates what we've known for more than a year: we can win this race because Kinky will draw the most votes -- not because our supporters belong to the Democratic or Republican parties, but because they belong to Texas and Texas belongs to them. These headlines tell us we've got more than a shot at taking our state back and putting it in your hands. That's where it belongs.

Friedman said there is no way he is dropping out. “It wouldn’t make a better Texas if Chris Bell was governor,” he said. “The two-party system is what’s been strangling Texas, and everybody knows it.” He rebutted those who say a vote for him is a wasted vote because they don’t think he can win. “If you vote your conscience and vote your heart, you never waste your vote,” he said. “You can’t.”

The other candidates can claim the backing of lobbyists and special interests. Kinky's only special interest group is the people of Texas. Today, we reported raising more money during the last three months than everyone but Gov. Perry. More importantly, Kinky has more individual contributors than any other candidate. With your help, we will continue to remain competitive on the airwaves. And with your vote on Nov. 7, we'll make our Lone Star shine again.

Here is a quote from World Magazine on the release of Kinky's recent album.

"Admittedly, some of the hamburgers that Friedman makes of society's sacred cows taste better than others, and none suggest how he'd do as a policy maker. They do imply, however, that he'd waste no time issuing apologies to the oversensitive, which would at least make him refreshing."

So, there's a conservative, Evangelical viewpoint.
